For the last two years at Kingmakers he has worked hard and been very disciplined in every aspect of his life. His mother left when he was ten so he had been raised by his father who was a typical cold mafia man, so to me Dean was always lost while trying to be the son his father would be proud of.
We get to find out more about his childhood, what influenced him to become the angry young man and the reasons why he is like he is. He fought anyone who stood in his way of what he wanted as he had never known anything different. Originally to me he was just a young lad trying to find his way in life and doing the only thing he knew what to do, which was fighting. Now not only do we have him focused on Cat but the author cleverly interwinds his path with problems and issues involving his family and the Moscow Mafia. So far in this series he has been such a brutal tormentor and nasty character that it seemed impossible for him to change. This book is mainly all about Dean and his redemption.
The author has packed this story full of intrigue and mystery alongside this couple’s unexpected relationship. Also the secret and the start of their journey is revealed in The Rebel #2. It is an amazing dark and twisted enemies to lovers story which could be read as a standalone but to really to understand what Dean has been through then you need to start at the beginning with The Heir. The Bully is the third book in the Kingmakers series and is Dean Yenin and Cat Romero’s story.
